Why is pregnancy yoga and active birth so important?

I’ve found in my own yoga community and work that many women feel drawn to practise yoga when they become pregnant even if its something they have never partaken in before. I truly believe this is their innate birthing instincts calling them to become more connected to Pachamama or mother nature, their bodies and their babies. The importance of grounding, connecting and trust are vital for both mother and baby.

Pregnancy is not a time to improve your flexibility but it is an important time to create vital strength and structure to the mothers changing bodies.  By doing this we bring better alignment into the body reducing common ailments and encouraging our babies into good positions for birth. Our sedentary culture, staring at screens have affected not only our posture but also our mental wellbeing. My pregnancy yoga classes have been designed as an effective flow of selfcare linking hypnobirthing and movement to breath .

My Classes are held twice a week, Mondays and   6pm and are a uniquely powerful combination of the fringe yoga vinyasa method and hypnobirthing techniques. If you are already studying the full birth programme with me it’s a wonderful compliment to your continued practise, if not it’s a great introduction. HypYoga classes are included as standard in all my full courses.’
