Why Ante Natal Birth Preparation Matters?

This is a really important question and I think its something that many of my clients debate before booking onto one of my courses. It’s something women have been doing since the dawn of time and so is it really necessary to attend ante natal classes and learn how to give birth? I believe it is.

Throughout history there was generally a very low-tech approach to birth and before the turn of the century most women birthed at home. Around the 60’s and 70’s there was a massive advancement in technology and all of a sudden women were presented with many different options including where they actually gave birth. This meant unfortunately birth became very medicalised and for many women that stripped them of their birthing instincts and confidence.

Women are now birthing in an era where research proves that a hand’s off, midwife led approach to birth produces much better birth outcomes for both mum and baby. That said birth is the unknown and situations can change frequently in labour so It’s incredibly important we have learnt emotional control/techniques to handle those challenges more positively. I believe a positive birth is not necessarily defined by what occurs in that labour but more about how a woman coped and navigated it. Birth plans can go awry but good birth preparation will be with you no matter what.

All my clients tell me that they want to feel more in control and here are a few reasons why my course will give you that control.

Does it work?
